Billboard reports that Rilo Kiley lead singer Jenny Lewis is working on a solo album, recorded in six days. There was no comment regarding whether this was an intentional homage to the "Big Jenny Upstairs", though she does cryptically say it is a "soul record". The album will be released on Team Love records, the same label as recent tour-mates Tilly and the Wall. (See also: rilokiley.net forum)

Bill Simmons, aka, The Sports Guy, has two articles about last week’s panic in Detroit.

  • In the first he breaks it down Warren Commission style with the help of his Tivo. This article is rumored to be the basis for Mitch Albom’s next book, The Five People You Meet in a Sports Guy Article. To wit,  Hannibal Lecter, Adam Carolla, Kermit Washington, Jim Sokolove and Michael Jackson.
  • In the second, he writes the melee  is now the fifth member of the Hall of Fame for Jaw-Dropping TV Nights. Previous members were "O.J.’s Bronco Chase — the Babe Ruth of this idea — the second Tyson-Holyfield fight, Lady Di’s accident and the night Gordon Jump tried to molest Dudley and Arnold on Diff’rent Strokes"
