Liquor, Limericks and Pirates - Giveaway!!
Posted on December 20, 2005 by Tito
Happy birthday to my brother today. Wish I could be in Wino to celebrate, as his three planned activities incorporate two of my …err… enthusiasms. On tap in Winona tonight: Jameson, Limericks and Pirates. (I’ll leave it to you to deduce which two I lean toward). My imagination is running wild with activities sure to shame any northern lights.
To celebrate, I present the first ever BMK contest extravaganza!! I’m opening up the comments for contestants to enter a limerick of their creation which best stirs my fancy. Bonus points for including as many of the following elements: pirates, liquor (jameson gets double points), Winona(Minnesota - not the actress) and … oh … hangover cures.
NOTE: points deducted for any Decemberists references.
The prize? A copy of Myla Goldgerg’s Wickett’s Remedy, which I hope you enjoy more than I did.
In the likely event nobody enters this contest, the jackpot will carry over to the next BMK contest. Due to my cheapness, entrants are limited to United States residents unless you want to pay international shipping costs yourself. But I hate foreigners, so really, don’t bother entering if you’re not in the lower 48.

I put on me pirate patch
and pour whiskey down the hatch
Me hook comes in handy
fer openin’ the brandy
Just be careful where we scratch
Thar once was me mate from Winona,
who turned out to be quite a stone-a
He’d say with a grin,
as he slammed Jameson,
What the fuck rhymes with Winona?
[...] Which reminds me - congrats to Brad who won the first BMK extravaganza, earning a copy of Wickett’s Remedy for taking home the title in my limerick contest. It’s “in the mail”.
