First Things First

Reading Jeff’s Death Alert, I was reminded that the first book I read myself was Tom and Jerry Have A Party. So I thought I’d put together a list of my “firsts” as best I can. This will likely be a work-in-progress as I continue to remember things.
- First Book Read: Tom and Jerry Have A Party
- First Movie Attended: All The President’s Men (according to my mom).
- First Movie I Remember Attending: Robin Hood
- First Song Heard: This is a tough one, but apparently1 the #1 song the week I was born was Let’s Do It Again by The Staple Singers.
- The First Time I Heard Criminal Minded: I was in the freshman stereo room at my high school.
- The first tape I bought with my own money: California Raisins Sing the Hit Songs (fromt the Hy-Vee off 90th & Maple, no less)
- The first CD I bought with my own money: Big Daddy Kane’s The Prince of Darkness
1 New (and scary) to me — not only did Elton John cover “Lucy In They Sky With Diamonds”, but it spent 2 weeks at number 1.
