United Nations of Rock

Posted on November 9, 2007 by David

I got an e-mail late last night from a former colleague inviting me to a Russian Rock Festival at a bar a few stops away on the G Train. I can’t read his band’s bio, but I’m sure it’d be a lot of fun. I’m passing though, as I’ve got plans tonight already: a Welshman and a New Zealander who respectively fronted one of my old favorite bands and one of my new favorite bands. And after that, wife-permitting, I’ll lobby for walking a few blocks to see a French band.

And then tomorrow, i had to reject a friend’s offer to see an old-school Czech band, because of a different friend’s gig. Now he is Upper East Side born-and-raised, but he’s opening for a Jersey Band, so that’s kind of exotic.

Which is all to say, I like Brooklyn.

Oh, and I like the I’m Not There Soundtrack a whole lot, pick it up.
