Dummy if I was on drugs I wouldn’t be tired

Backstory: I live in an old Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn that has gradually become more and more saturated by people like me. A few of the old neighborhood bars have been completely taken over by the gentrifiers, while some accomodate the new and the old quite nicely. The one closest to my house closed up around 3 years ago, which was a shame because it was a really good place. In time, renovations began, and an awning hung, announcing its new name: “Leo’s Corner”. And months seeped into years, and the awning was all we saw.
Until about a month ago, when they finally opened the doors, flat screens, internet jukebox, bottle service (!) and all. The bottle service, my friend, is your giveaway: this bar is not for my people. It is for those who were here before me. The twenty-somethings born and raised here need their own place, and this is their liquor fubu.
Enough of the backstory, now the point: This fellow-gentrifier’s blog description of Leo’s has wrought forth my favorite comment thread of 2007, put it in the bank.
